Google Doodle: Dr.Ignaz semmelweis – Scientist
Today Google added an amazing Doodle art in Chrome. We all know that Google usually adds Doodle art to memorize someone or something. Today Google’s doodle art is suitable for our global situation. Yes, “Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis” is the topic of the day.
Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis is a German – Hungarian Scientist and Physician. He is the first person who discovers the advantage of handwashing in medically. He is born on July 1st, 1818 in Buda, Hungary.
He completed his doctorate from the University of Vienna and the master’s degree in midwifery. In 1847 Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis was appointed as a Chief Resident in the maternity clinic of the Vienna General Hospital. That time “Childbed fever” is affecting the new mothers and its impact is really high.
But nobody knows how this mysterious fever is happening and how to control it. That time “Childbed fever” mortality rate is high and all medical researchers are trying to find a way to low its impact.
At the time Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis is started his further investigation to find a way to reduce the rate of “Childbirth fever”. After his investigation, he found a big thing that is the doctors are the transmitters of this infection to new mothers. They do treatments to infected patients and watch new patients without proper germ cleaned hands.
Then he immediately announced that all medical staff must wash their hands properly before testing or doing treatment to the patients. The result of his action the “Childbirth fever” infection rate was gone down in his division.
but unfortunately, his co-workers are not ready to accept this handwashing idea and they view this amazing idea as worthless. After some years his Hygenic recommendation is accepted as best and beneficial in the Medical industry.
Today we are really thanking Google to memorized us, Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis. Because nowadays Corona or Covid-19 is really affecting the whole world and the World Health Organization gives an alert that “Covid-19 is a Global Emergency”.
We can reduce the infection level by wash our hands regularly by using soap and running water at-least 20 seconds.
We must keep at-least 2 or 3 feet distance from others.
Cover your face with paper tissue when you Cough or Sneeze and immediately wash your hands and bin the tissues.
Drink hot water regularly.
